1. Overview of traveling block
The traveling blockis a traveling system connecting the crown blocks with wire rope. It can greatly reduce the fast rope pull, in order to greatly reduce the load of boring winch in various operations of the well drilling.

2. Function and use requirements of traveling block
The traveling block is a movable pulley unit that moves back and forth vertically inside the derrick. Modern traveling blocks are provided with single shafts, and multiple pulleys are mounted on a shaft with a rolling bearing. The pulley rotates faster on the side of fast rope than that on the side of dead rope, so the pulleys are worn differently, and those closer to the fast rope are worn more seriously. To resist wear, the rope groove shall be subject to surface heat treatment. When the rope groove is worn seriously, the pulley shall be changed.

3. Structure of the traveling block
The traveling block is mainly made up of beams, left and right side plates, pulleys, pulley shaft, lower lifting rings and other components. Between the left and right side plates of the traveling block, the pulley shaft is equipped with pulleys to form the pulley block. Each pulley is fitted with a roller bearing. To prevent the bearing from oil leakage and dirt from entering the bearing, the oil baffle discs are installed on both sides of the pulley. Each bearing has a separate lubricating oil duct, and the oil cups on both ends of the pulley shaft are filled with lubricating grease with oil gun. In order to prevent the wire rope from jumping and protect the pulley, shields are installed on both sides of the traveling block, and the shields are provided with slotted holes for wire rope passing through. The lower part of the pulley is covered with a fender.
